LADAKH 2017 - I CHASED A VISION

There are few places in the world today that are friendly to the traveler than Leh, India. It is a community which offers enchanting exploration opportunities while being framed by an incredible landscape. With summits reaching 3,500m, our mid year excursion this year will take us to Stok Palace, Pangong Lake, and Nubra Valley and Tsomoriri.
 
Our Road trip plus trek itinerary includes three days of trekking, a monastery tour, and plenty of adventure. We will be following historical caravan routes while driving over a pass that is over 5,300m in height, making it one of the world’s highest drivable passageways.

For those who are up for a challenge, consider joining our other Stok Kangri Expedition (6153m), the highest mountain in the Stok Range of the Himalayas in the Ladakh region. 

It will be an adventure not soon forgotten by anyone who comes. Join us to explore the beauty of Leh in our own unique way.

I Chased A Vision

I chased a vision.
Of a woman and a mountain.
My mission.
And when I stood at the summit tall.
Mother Nature offered her gentle call.
Her whisper was simple and ever bright.
“Come stay with me tonight.”
 
I chased an expectation.
Of a fear that held me back.
My limitation.
But when I was able to cast that aside.
And let the mountain become my guide.
There was beauty everywhere to be found.
With each footstep left on the ground.
 
I chased a laugh.
Of a moment that was pure joy.
My epitaph.
It must say that I went in pursuit of a dream.
To carve my own path next to the mountain stream.
As I sought to find love offered in every form.
For only then, will my soul be everlasting warm.
 
I chased an emotion.
Of a love deeper than the ocean.
My devotion.
Comfort in the sound of your voice.
Allowing my soul to greatly rejoice.
Encouraged by a stranger with a mutual love.
Of the mountain, the heavens, and the stars up above.
 
I chased a smile.
Of a caring hand tightly on my shoulder.
My trial.
Is to keep going as she and the mountain will lead.
To know that one day I will succeed.
Because of the strength that Mother Nature offers so free.
Allowing each trail to become the pursuit of me.
 
I chased an opportunity.
Of grand delights from summit to sea.
My unity.
For without her, I am nothing defined.
Without the mountain, I cannot be refined.
Joined by travelers who seek the same truth.
This journey will be our fountain of youth.
 
I chased a hope.
Of a desire to be greater.
My scope.
Finding friendships forged in the challenge of a trail.
Air so fresh I am forced to inhale.
Discovering what lingers around every bend.
Knowing that on her and the mountain, I can depend.
 
I chased an ending.
Of a future that I wished to create.
My intending.
To follow the mountain’s ever-present call.
To pursue her with the strength of every foot fall.
For she has become me and I her.
And on this mountain, together we will endure.
