This road trip, taking you to the prime destinations, attractions of Ladakh and yet forgetting the primal needs of an adventurer - camping and trekking! Savor the tranquility, admire the lovely sights, explore the monasteries and lakes, relish sumptuous local cuisine and more. Itinerary: 16/6 Day 0: Depart from SG to Leh 17/6 Day 01: Reach Leh in the morning. You will be greeted by our representative in the airport and dropped in the guest house. Day for Acclimatization. In the Evening walk to Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa. Over night in Leh guest house. 18/6 Day 02: Drive From Leh To Likir Across Phobe La (9 Kms/4 To 5 Hrs.) Morning after breakfast you will be driven by taxi to Likir which is just 58 kms. Away. Likir Village (3650 m) is the starting point of our trek. Although the distance is short, the route is warm, without any shade or water and we need to traverse two passes. From Likir the route heads west up to Phobe La (3580m) and beyond this lies Sumdo village. The trail goes steadily upwards till you get to Chagatse La (3630m). Across the pass is the village of Yangthang (3630m) where we camp for the night, next to a stream. The Ridzong Monastery lies about an hour south of Yangthang. Stay in Tents. 19/6 Day 03: Yangthang To Hemis Shukpachen Across Tsermangchen La(8 Kms 2/3 Hours) Today is an easy walk despite the pass because both the approach and the descent are of gentle gradients. The trail heads north,descending for a bit, crossing a stream before climbing up west again to Tsermangchen La (3750m). After a short rest at the pass we head down to Hemis Shukpachen. The village, named after the grove of cedars, is one of Ladakh's prettiest. There are several sparkling streams surrounded by shady willows and large barley fields that provide a touch of green to the otherwise desolate, Rocky Mountains. Over Night stay in Tents. 20/6 Day 04: Hemis Shukpachen To Ang Across Mebtak La (10 Kms/ 3 Hrs) Again this is a fairly easy day. The trail goes upward between two hillocks west of the village upwards until it veers south and climbs steeply up to the Mebtak La (3750m) marked by prayer flags. From the pass we head down the gorge to Ang, a charming village with apricot orchards, later drive back to Leh. Over Night in Leh Guest house. 21/6 Day 05: Road Trip from Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla pass. Post an early breakfast at around 08:00 AM, begin your road journey to Nubra Valley via the world-popular Khardungla Pass. At an altitude of 18360 feet, it is one of the highest motorable passes. As you reach the valley, set your camps at the assigned location. Later on, you visit the silver sand dunes near Hunder village. Hop onto a double humped Camel for a memorable camel safari around the place. The road trip in this region is a beautiful one. These places own monasteries and hot springs. Get a sneak-peak into the lifestyle of the locals. Stay Over night in guest house. 22/6 Day 06: Drive from Nubra to Pangong Lake. Leave early morning for Pangong Lake, placed at an altitude of 4400m. Start driving eastwards of Leh crossing Changla Pass, 17500 ft. Take a route via Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh. Treat your eyes to the scenic beauty all around you. As you reach, set up your camps near the lake side. Finding its place in both India and China, this lake is blessed with enchanting surroundings. The lake has even featured in the Bollywood blockbuster, 3 Idiots. The brackish water changes color with the sunlight. Enjoy your day here. Overnight stay in fixed tents. 23/6 Day 07: Pangong to Leh. After breakfast drive back to leh. Overnight in Leh guest house. 24/6 Day 08: Tsokhar and Tsomoriri trip. After breakfast start to Tsomoriri lake. It takes around 6 to 7 hours. Tso-moriri Lake also known as Mountain Lake is a spectacular site amidst mountain ranges in Leh. Tso-moriri is a High Altitude Lake , located in the Changthang (literal meaning, northern plains) area with an altitude of 4,595 m (15,075 ft). The Tso-moriri Lake measures about 28 km in length from north to south and about 4-6 km in breadth and about 100 feet average in-depth. Tso-moriri Lake is surrounded by barren hills, with the backdrop of beautiful snow-covered mountains. Overnight in guest house. 25/6 Day 09: Tsokhar and Tsomoriri trip. After breakfast visit to Tsokhar lake. Drive back to Leh. Overnight in Leh guest house. 26/6 Day 10: Return to SG Check out and drop in Airport. Tour Ends.
