ROAD TRIP and HIKING IN GERMANY
with Adventures Unlimited

INTRODUCING THE ROMANTIC ROAD

The love affair between nature and culture brings joy to the heart of travellers. This is the case with the Romantic Road, which runs for 400 km between Würzburg and Füssen. It certainly lives up to its name: it is not
only the oldest, it is also the best known holiday route in Germany. On the Romantic Road, visitors regularly find themselves in some of the loveliest and most historically significant places in the country. The Romantic Road has plenty to see, whether you cover it in a couple of days or linger for several weeks.
Highlights
  • Scenic road trip that takes you through quaint towns and the Bavarian Alps

  • Past villages that are the epitome of idyllic. Through a landscape so captivating you’ll begin a whole other love affair. Alongside mountain-top castles that are fairytales brought to life.

  • Stopping at medieval walled towns where Gothic spires join Alpine peaks on the horizon, strolling streets of half-timbered houses with overflowing window boxes.

  • Take AU-curated strolls and explore the cities of Frankfurt, Wurzburg, Augsburg and Munich
  • Arriving in HOHENSCHWANGAU, the 700 years old romantic old town, framed by the imposing high mountain peaks and an idyllic lake landscape, and visit the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau

  • Hiking at  Garmisch-Partenkirchen and enjoy beautiful scenery at the Zugspitze, the tallest mountain in Germany.

  • A Hiker's Dream - The Black Forest, not just the home of the classical cuckoo clock and the setting of many Grimm fairy tales, but also its scenic lakes and walks through pine forests. You can discover dreamy backdrops of old castles and quaint towns and villages

  • Stuttgart, capital of southwest Germany’s Baden-Württemberg state, is known as a manufacturing hub. Mercedes-Benz and Porsche have headquarters and museums here.

  • European Christmas market trip is a bucket list vacation for many–and for good reason! Imagine sipping hot mugs of gluhwein in the cold winter air, shopping for hand-crafted ornaments and gifts at beautifully decorated stalls, or snacking on classic Christmas market treats while under the shadow of a stunning Gothic cathedral!
