Milestones are an excellent way to track goals. They keep us motivated. Prizes are a tangible way to prove we were successful in accomplishing something. Our dreams must be more than milestones.
At Adventures Unlimited, we do set targets and milestones. Be it the Malaysia G7 or the dual pilgrimage status, we want each member to believe that nothing is impossible if they set their minds upon it.
When you are looking for the kind of adventure that refreshes your soul with the perfect combination of forest cover and altitude, the majestic peaks of Taiwan is the real deal. This adventure is all about experiencing and conquering the Baiyue (百岳) which is a set of 100 mountain peaks of Taiwan.
There are over 260 mountain peaks over 3,000m in Taiwan, but the Baiyue (百岳) is the unique and daring set of 100 peaks that every adventurer should experience. To take on this challenge, several trails have been made over time.
There is a seriousness about these treks that is personally attractive for us.
Could the TW100 series take years to complete?

Ranking among the top five mountains in Taiwan, Beidawu Mountain is the last high mountain over 3,000m above sea level at the south end of the Central Mountain Range. It is revered by the local Paiwan people as the holy mountain. They call it Meli-miligang, meaning beautiful like a dream. The virgin forest on the mountain is the largest in Taiwan and there are plenty of biological resources. The trail passes the Kuaigu Inn and Dawu Shrine and reaches the summit of Beidawu Mountain. It is about 9km in length. The altitude difference is about 1,549m and the entire trail is in the Shuangguihu Wildlife Habitat where the finest natural views in southern Taiwan can be seen. The most stunning beauty is the seas of clouds in autumn and winter.

TRAIL GRADING: 3.5/5
Grade 3: Advanced trekking. Trails are usually in good condition, but there could be areas in disrepair. There will be significant elevation gains and grading may be quite steep in some areas. Trails may require more than 1 day to complete. Scrambling may be required along parts of the trail. Requires an excellent hiking condition.
* Participants are expected to carry a daily load of up to 8 kg during the hike. However, you carry your day pack during summit hikes.
* Previous hiking experience in G7 mountains of Malaysia are an added advantage
* Participants are also expected to join in the training conducted by Adventures Unlimited to prepare for this trek.
Alangyi Ancient Trail and Jinshuiying National Trail
The lapping waves of the Pacific Ocean pound on the pebble beach, patiently smooth out the rough edge of the rocks, defining the shoreline into a century-old migratory pebble beach. This, is the Alangyi Ancient Trail. Surrounded by oceans, Taiwan is home to a rich diversity of coastline landscapes and invaluable natural resources. The integrity of the Trail was at one time threatened by a planned highway construction project; but thanks to the tireless work of environmental advocacy groups and community residents, a preserve between Syuhai and Cape Guanyin Alangyi was successfully designated for protection.
The Jinshuiying National Trail starts from Shuidiliao in Fangliao Township, Pingtung County on the west side and ends at the Jialuo Settlement in Dawu Township, Taitung County on the east side. Among all the ancient trails that cross the Central Mountain Range, the mountain-crossing point of this trail is the lowest and the most frequently used. It is also the oldest trail in service. Many ruins can still be seen along the way. The biological diversity is very high and the number of rare plants is among the largest in Taiwan. Ferns and Orchids are particularly abundant. It is a trail with cultural and historical traces and unusual natural ecology and landscape.
