Tanzania is as iconic as Africa can be. This is a country where one of the seven summit, Mount Kilimanjaro reside. It overlooks the plains of the Serengeti where wildlife abounds in staggering numbers.
Overview
This is the site of one of the world’s most remarkable natural spectacles: the annual Great Migration when nearly two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle traverse the savanna in pursuit of water and new grass. Predators like lion and cheetah stalk in their wake.
Farther south, in Tarangire National Park, vast herds of elephant outnumber people. With some of the continent’s greatest concentrations of wild animals, Tanzania is duly famed as a top safari destination.

Highlights
- Visit four of the top 10 national parks in Tanzania
- Experience the true wilderness of this great land where animals are free to roam without restriction of fences
- Observe one of the most incredible wild life congregation and home to the biggest congregation of large mammals on earth at Ngorongoro Crater
- Experience Mobile Camping in Tented Camp under the African Skies, falling asleep to the hooting of an owl or waking up with the roaring of a lion
There is something thrilling about staying in a tent on safari. Instead of being shut away behind brick and glass, enjoy the glow of lantern light on canvas walls and drift off to sleep to the sounds of the African night. And if your idea of staying in a tent means having to rough it in a brightly coloured 'dome', you're in for a wonderful surprise: Africa's top tented camps offer a softer kind of adventure with all the comfort and the trimmings you'd expect from a hotel or lodge
TARANGIRE AND SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Tarangire is one of the favourite parks in Africa with a wide range of habitats. The landscape is composed of granitic ridges, river valleys, and swamps. Vegetation is a mix of Acacia woodlands, seasonally flooded grassland, and large Baobab trees. It covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometres with plenty of dirt tracks to explore.
In the other hand, its neighbour the Serengeti National park covers 14750 Square kilometers of grassland plains, savannah, riverine forest, and woodlands, Serengeti is a Tanzanian national park famous for its annual migration of more than 1 million white-bearded (or brindled) blue Wildebeest along with the massive herds of Zebra and other plains antelope and or Gazelle. Sightings of the famous Big 5; Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Cape Buffalo and Rhino is also part of the excitement of this area.
To the southeast of the park is the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Bordering the Serengeti, Mara and Ngorongoro are numerous parks and reserves; together these areas form the larger Serengeti ecosystem.

NGORONGORO CRATER
Visit to this region give you a real insight into the Maasai people who still live traditionally to this day, nomadic herders living amongst the wildlife in harmony; for the most part....As a conservation reserve as opposed to a National Park the local Maasai are allowed to live and graze their cattle in the area, including grazing inside the Crater although they cannot live on the Crater floor.
The crater (depicted above), is officially a Caldera, the largest unbroken un-flooded in the world, is the remnants of an active volcano with the rim reaching up to 1800m above sea level and the walls inside dropping 600m to the crater floor. This has created a natural wonder with a wide range of habitat diversity that stretches almost 22km in diameter. From thick rain forest, steep hills, grassy savannah plains, swap land and sulphuric salt lakes home to Pink Flamingos.

DAY 5-13TH AUG 2019: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (B/L/D)
Following breakfast, we will spend the whole day on a game drive in the Serengeti National Park. During the small rainy season, you will typically see these herds moving from the Kenyan Masai Mara through the northwest of the Serengeti to the plains in the south. After the great rainy season, the herds slowly travel back through the western and north-western part of the Serengeti.
With fluctuations in rainfall, this timetable can of course change, resulting in the animals migrating during different times and routes. Our guide will try his outmost to find the animals and will make sure that you can see the animals from the best spot in the national park. Naturally, the migration also attracts predators and with luck you might see a kill in action. You will spend another night at the Mobile TENTED CAMP.
