“As this is my first 5000m mountain, am quite worried about catching AMS, moreover the day before, it rained hard and non-stop for almost 8 hours! We were all freezing cold in our tents and frost developing at the mountain top. The morning when we were making our way up, snow fell, the journey to the summit were gruelling but the view were amazing and being my first time on a snow covered peak, I was extremely excited and motivated to make the summit, not only for myself but also to send my dearest a birthday wish”
~Simon Chan, SG50 Dafeng Team
Lying 200 km west of Chengdu is the majestic UNESCO designated SiGuniang National Park Tibet composes of three major valley which cut into the trans Himalayan Ranges. The park boasts great natural beauty not limited to snow mountain ranges, cypress forests, waterfalls, and alpine lakes. Truly a dream destination for nature lovers.
At its centerpiece, lies the towering quadruplet mountains known as Siguniang-Shan or the Four Sisters Mountain. Local believes the peaks are embodiment of four fairies or goddess. The highest of the four peaks known as YaoFeng stands at 6250 metres followed by Sanfeng, Erfeng and Dafeng with heights of 5355m, 5276m and 5025m respectively. Out of the four, Dafeng and Erfeng are trekking peaks.
The mountain area is an epiculture mishmash of Chinese/Tibetan culture housing more than a dozen of ethnic culture. One of the primary town we will be visiting is Rilong, nearest to Siguniang and most ideal base to explore the area.
Nearest to Rilong is one of the great valley of Siguniang, Changping. A trek into Changping offers an upclose view of the four sister with a total of 21 viewpoints starting with a plentiful of primordial forest and if you continue long enough you will enter another world with mountain meadows that connects the dominating snow mountains.

In this journey we will attempt to summit both Dafeng and Erfeng .
The adventure will start from Chengdu, continuing to Rilong where we will be based at for preparation and full trekking days ahead. As Rilong is located at more than 3000masl, we will take it slow and spend a day acclimatizing at Chanping Valley before starting our journey to Dafeng and Erfeng.
Although both are designated only as trekking peaks the journey are strenuous with high elevation condition and mostly steep elevated terrain instead of undulating so a very good fitness and advanced trekking experience is a must.
