Kashmir Great Lakes Trek
The Great Lakes of Kashmir tour takes place in a paradisiacal landscape of towering mountains, vast grasslands, and, of course, the great lakes themselves. This route, which offers stunning views of the Kashmir Himalaya, is one of the greatest ways to take in the region's natural splendour. This scenic trek traverses through a journey of picturesque mountain ranges, valleys and meadows to the top of majestic mountains and past stunning alpine lakes and flower-filled fields. The trek takes you through a variety of landscapes, from pine forests to snow-capped Himalayan peaks, providing a unique and unforgettable experience. The villages along the trek are quaint and picturesque, with friendly locals and traditional charm. The people of Kashmir have a strong connection with nature and the beautiful surroundings, making the trek an even more special experience. The trek is also an important part of Kashmiri culture and history, as it passes through many historical sites and monuments.
Kashmir Extended - Post-Trek Leisure Trip
After trekking 72km and crossing high passes up to 4150m, we conclude the trip with some leisure days to take in Kashmir from another perspective. We shall refresh and relax in the houseboat for a night before the start of the leisure part of the trip. We will visit the famous Gulmarg Ski Resort, where you can try your hands on ATV driving, horse riding, or the world's highest gondola. At the famous Pahalgam Shepard Valley, we shall see for ourselves if Aru Valley lives up to its name as the 'mini Switzerland' of Kashmir. We spend a day of sightseeing at Yusmarg - which means 'The Meadow of Jesus' in Kashmiri, because it is an alpine valley said to be visited by Jesus.
