In the recent years you may have seen tons and tons of tourists flocking in to Iceland, but not Greenland. If you are looking to visit somewhere with majestic background and primeval with less tourists, Greenland is definitely on the list.

We keep our itinerary flexible to cater for any unexpected weather condition and opportunities that arise. Daily activities include trekking (sometimes on snow, icecap and tundra), ice fjord cruise, and settlement visit, with options for kayaking excursions, dog sled and other short scenic treks. During the night, you can catch the dancing northern lights. The night sky is regularly illuminated by the glow of northern lights from early autumn. Legend provides that children conceived under the magical northern lights are particularly intelligent.
If you are an adventure seeker and would also love to take stunning photos when you are on holiday, ‘Greenland 2020’ gives you the best of both worlds. We have customised the package in a way that you will get to experience the ruggedness of different treks (at Kangerlussuaq's ice cap and tundra, Ilulissat along the coastal lines and Oqaatsut) and also get your fair share of ‘Instagram superstar moments’.

Here are some sights that you will come across during the trek and cruise ride.
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Point 660 Ice Cap
  • Russell Glacier
  • Guided City Walk at Ilulissat
  • Kangia Icefiord (Sermermiut)
  • Evening Cruise at Ilulissat
  • Settlement Visit to Oqaatsut (Least beaten settlement)
  • Guided hike from Oqaatsut to Ilulissat (22km)

KANGERLUSSUAQ

Kangerlussuaq is a former U.S. military base and serves as the international gateway for the majority of travel to and from Greenland today. The town serves as the transportation hub for the country today, connecting travelers and locals with other towns in Greenland to international destinations like Copenhagen, Denmark and Iceland. The town is also surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and wildlife. Thousands of musk oxen roam the mountains and valleys near the town, which are accessible by hiking trails.

We will do a road trip through rugged yet beautiful landscapes, formed by the extending and retreating Ice Cap throughout many years. On the way in to the ice, we’ll make stops (view point to Russell Glacier, and by the crashed planes). If conditions permit, we will be able to walk up upon the Icecap itself.

ILULISSAT

Ilulissat is the third largest town in Greenland with about 5,000 inhabitants. It also house the Sermermiut valley of Ilulissat which became a UNESCO Heritage site in 2004. There are 4 settlements around Ilulissat namely Saqqaq, Qeqertaq, Oqaatsut and Ilimanaq. Out of these 4 settlements, we will be visiting Oqaatsut.
OQAATSUT

Oqaatsut is a small settlement with a long history going back to the 1600 when it was first inhabited. The Dutch whalers called the place Rodebay back in the 1600’s, which is also known as “Red Bay” due to its strategic location where the whales were pulled up onto the land here if they were caught in the Ilulissat area.

Oqaatsut has less than 50 inhabitants and is one of the smaller settlements in Greenland. The town is placed 18 km north of Ilulissat on a peninsula with a beautiful view of the ice fjord and its icebergs. The town holds a school, a small church with enough space for 100 people. You can also find a small grocery shop and a small health care facility.

We will travel to Oqaatsut via ice breaker speed boat and trek back to Ilulissat.
