VIA FRANCIGENA - Cultural Route of the Council of Europe
The Via Francigena, the historic route from northern Europe leading to the Eternal City, is for everyone. Set out on the Way and follow in the footsteps of the pilgrims who, even before the year 1000, travelled down the Italian peninsula. They came from the British Islands, from the Fench Kingdom, from the farthest Regions of the Emperor. From the mountain pass of the Great St. Bernard, through the valley of Aosta, they entered the beautiful country of Italy, with its cities rich in both history and art.
Let your eyes marvel at the geometric shapes of the cultivated fields, the mirroring of the rice fields in the spring, the wind combing the ripe corn, the vines heavy with grapes in late summer, the bare, parched Sienese earth in the autumn: every day and every season they give evoke new emotions, under the clear skies of the peninsula.
Take time to stop and listen often to the tales of history along the route. Visit the crypts. Contemplate quietly in shadowy aisles of Romanesque churches. Take in the warmth of the sun in the churchyard. Open the shutters every morning onto spectacular scenery. Taste new and incredible flavours every night. Day after day, your goal gets closer and it becomes difficult to believe that your journey through the Roman countryside has to end. Remember to leave space in your memory for the city of seven hills and to its eternal monuments.

Geneva
Geneva is Switzerland's second-most populous city and is one of the world's major centers of international diplomacy, having served as the site of the initial headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Despite this, it somehow manages to retain the feel of a small cozy town.
We’d be spoiled by choices of what to do in Geneva. If we run, we might be able to cover all the sites but you’d be fascinated by how beautiful the city is, you’d be snapping away and thanking your Huawei or iPhone for their amazing cameras!
Some places we’d cover if we didn’t spend too much time taking photos - Lake Geneva & Jet d’Eau, Geneva Old Town, Flower Clock & English Garden, St Peter’s Cathedral, Bourg-de-Four Square, Rue du Rhone, Reformation Wall, Bastions Park, The Palace of Nations (UN), Patek Philippe Museum and Marché de Plainpalais.

Milan
Milan is financially the second most important city in Italy. It has the most populous city proper in the country, but sits at the centre of Italy's largest urban and metropolitan area. What makes Milan interesting compared to other places is that the city is truly more about the lifestyle of enjoying worldly pleasures: a paradise for shopping, football, opera, and nightlife. Milan remains the marketplace for Italian fashion – fashion aficionados, supermodels and international paparazzi descend upon the city twice a year for its spring and autumn fairs. Don't get fooled by the modern aspect of the city, since it's one of the most ancient cities in Europe with more than 26 centuries of history and heritage!
Milan Cathedral is a truly monumental building and is famed for its sublime architecture and took over 600 years to complete. Located in the centre of Milan in the self-named Piazza del Duomo, the cathedral was constructed in 1386 but not officially completed until 1965! With an Italian Gothic style, the front façade of the cathedral is truly magnificent and is crowned with countless towers, statues and decoration. A gelato in the Piazza is a must!!
Grand Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II - the world oldest shopping mall! As you walk into the Grand Gallery, you might think you were stood inside the entrance hall to an opera house or palace. High-end designer shops line the mall and you can expect to find such names as Prada, Versace and Louis Vuitton – so even if we can’t afford it, an Instagram picture is a must!!!
