“Doi Chiang Dao” or “Doi Luang Chiang Dao” is the third highest peaks in Thailand (at 2,275 meters)after Doi Inthanon and Doi Pha Hom Pok. It’s undoubtedly one of the most beautiful mountains in the country. It’s located in Chiang Dao district in Chiang Mai. It is believed to be the place where the Lord Buddha and his 8 followers came for a holy bath in the golden pond.
As part of the National Wildlife Sanctuary, covering 521sqkm, it is full of rare and endemic species populated the region. “Doi Chiang Dao” is covered by fog most of the year and temperature is always cool, especially in winter and rainy season, very moist weather. Full of beautiful plants and flowers, the mountain houses some specific types or rare wildlife that cant be found anywhere else, such as the Chiang Dao Dragon Butterfly, wild rooster and goral etc.

Pai town is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains, jungle and rice paddies and it is unlike anywhere else in Thailand, it is a friendly, laid back vibe town and everywhere is very welcoming. Beware though, we have planned a day full of activity peppered with awesomeness. For singles, perhaps just perhaps with the blessing of the stars of Chiang Dao, you will meet the one during this journey <3
ITINERARY
05 Dec – on the road
Pick up from Chiang Mai Airport. Drive to Chiang Dao district
Check in at Chiang Dao Story Camp; serving refreshing drinks & fruit
If time permit we can explore the hill tribe valley nearby
Dinner at Chiang Dao Stories Camp (Set Buffet)
06 Dec – Doi Chiang Dao Hiking
Wake up early, prepare personal baggage for hiking. Breakfast
Tentative 7am; Leave Chiang Dao Stories Camp to the starting point
Tentative 9am; Start trekking
Enjoy the natural walk-up hill, approximately 3-4 hours through dry evergreen forest, moist upper mixed bamboo forest until to the first camp site and break for lunch.
After lunch, walk on hilly trial, approximately 3 hours. Beautiful panoramas view along the way until reach the camp site (Ang-Sa-Loong) before the peak. While porters preparing the camp, trekkers can walk up to Chiang Dao Peak (300M from camp, about 30minutes) to enjoy the sunset
The night will continue with candle light dinner and enjoy seeing the stars on the clear sky
07 Dec – Continue hiking
Tentative 5am; Wake up early to see sunrise at Kew-Lom point, and to enjoy the panoramic sea of fog.
Tentative 9am; Walk back to camp for breakfast and get ready
Descend back to Park's office
Leave Park’s office to Chiang Dao Story Camp and late lunch
Leave Chiang Dao Story Camp for Pai
Checking in at hotel in Pai (Walking Street zone)
Dinner, Relaxing night (roaming & shopping in the walking street in the center of Pai)
08 Dec – Pai – Pangmapha Sightseeing
Tentative 8am; Wake up for breakfast
Drive to Pai view-point. Enjoy panoramic scenery of Pai. Photo time!
Visit Sapan Boon, a long bamboo bridge across the local rice field. (may visit waterfall along the way if time permit)
Tentative 12.0pm; Back to Pai town for lunch.
Visit Lod (Spirit) Caves, a spectacular limestone cave with a river flows through the caves (can hire a guide to float through them on a bamboo raft)
Visit Pang Ma Pha and Doi Kiew Lom on the way back, another popular viewpoints of Pai
Visit hot spring on way back to Pai town
Back in Pai town. Relaxing afternoon (explore abundance of markets, street food vendors)
