TAG ALONG for an expedition to Mt Damavand, one of the Volcanic Seven Summits
This 18,506-foot volcano is located in the Alborz mountain range in Iran. Last erupted 7300 years ago, this UNESCO national world heritage site is a home to unique diversity of flora and fauna including Brown Trout, Iris demawendica, Mountain Goats, and the Caspian Snowcock bird.
This dormant volcano and the highest peak in Middle East plays a special place in Persian mythology being it’s the magnificent hero in many of Persian folklore and poems.
Mount Damavand has four main routes with different climbing grades and characters, the most popular face is the classic South route.
