Explore Authentic Iceland by Exploring Beyond the Ring Road
Iceland, the Land of Fire and Ice, is unlike any other on Earth, with its rugged landscapes, cascading waterfalls, and majestic glaciers. The air is crisp and clean, the sky is vast and open, and the people are friendly and welcoming.
But what truly set Iceland apart is its natural beauty. The country is home to some of the most breathtaking sights in the world, from the geysers and hot springs of the Geysir area, to the majestic glaciers of Vatnajökull National Park. And if you were lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the elusive Northern Lights, dancing across the sky in a brilliant display of color and light.
And if you were to visit Iceland in September, you would be in for a special treat, as this is when the Northern Lights are at their most active. Imagine standing beneath the starry sky, surrounded by nothing but the wild and untamed beauty of Iceland, as the Northern Lights dance overhead. It is an experience that you will never forget.

and much more!
Here are just some sights and treks that you will come across during the road trip. The full itinerary will be given to confirmed participants.
Golden Circle Route
The Golden Circle is one of Iceland's most well-known tourist itineraries. This is a great way to become acquainted with Iceland and experience many of its stunning natural attractions. Waterfalls, geothermal areas, spas, craters of volcanoes, and even a UNESCO World Heritage Site are all on the list. Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir Geothermal Area, and ingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park make up the typical Golden Circle trip of Iceland. From the nation's capital to the geographic center and back, this trek clocks in at over 250 kilometers. |
Seljalandsfoss - Gljufrafoss Waterfalls Though modest, it's one of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls. From the Ring Road in the South, Seljalandsfoss is visible behind it. Gljúfrafoss is a hidden gem since Seljalandsfoss attracts more attention. These falls, partially hidden by the surrounding rocks, are named "one who lives in the canyon." A short canyon route leads to the falls. One of the few waterfalls you can stand beneath and experience the mist and thunder. |
Reynisfjara black beach (Game of Thrones filming site) With its Icelandic black sand, gigantic basalt columns, and powerful waves, Reynisfjar Beach is one of Iceland's most magnificent black beaches. The basalt rock formations' unusual shape was utilized in a few Season 7 episodes of Game of Thrones to symbolize the beach near Eastwatch, a bastion at the eastern end of the Wall and the Night's Watch's easternmost castle. |
Just grab a friend and take a ride, together upon the open road
Haoldukvisl glacier: Hiking off-grid Haroldukvisl Glacier offers intrepid hikers a unique and challenging off-grid experience. Unlike popular tourist destinations with well-marked trails, Haroldukvisl Glacier beckons those seeking adventure and solitude amidst pristine wilderness. What sets this glacier apart is the absence of a defined route, making it a haven for explorers yearning to forge their path through the icy expanses. Crevasses, seracs, and icefalls create a complex and ever-evolving terrain, requiring hikers to assess their surroundings constantly. The glacier's surface is a mosaic of snow and ice formations, creating an otherworldly atmosphere as you traverse the frozen expanse. |
Namaskard geothermal area Namaskard Geothermal Area is a captivating geological wonder situated in the northeastern part of Iceland, near the town of Reykjahlid and Lake Myvatn. This otherworldly destination is renowned for its bubbling mud pots, hissing fumaroles, and vibrant mineral deposits, creating an alien landscape that feels like stepping onto another planet. One of the most exhilarating ways to experience the raw beauty of Namaskard Geothermal Area is by hiking up Namaskard Mountain. This dormant volcanic mountain offers panoramic views of the surrounding geothermal features and the striking Icelandic countryside. |
Arnarstapi Cliffs Arnarstapi, one of the most stunning locations on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, is a sight to see. Arnarstapi is one of Iceland's most stunning natural harbors, with remarkable columnar basalt and cliff formations. During the spring and summer, a tour around the harbor and sea cliffs will be accompanied by the squawking of a variety of species, including kittiwakes, gulls, fulmars, and the grumpy Arctic tern. |
Embark on an adventure in special landscapes filled with dramatic history
Stuðlagil Canyon (Columnar Basalt Canyon)
Studlagil Canyon is one of the most beautiful and fascinating sites in Iceland, and yet it's so far from civilization that it seems refreshingly off the main path. Among the largest concentrations of basalt columns in all of Iceland may be found in this canyon, which is situated in the Jökuldalur Valley (Glacier Valley) in East Iceland. You'll see strange geometric formations made up of these long, black streaks of rock. For a while, Studlagil Canyon was Iceland's most talked-about natural attraction. In recent years, the canyon has gone from being a well-kept secret to a tourist hotspot. |
The Laugavegur Trek is Iceland's most famous hiking trail, and for good reason. This trek takes you through some of the most diverse and beautiful landscapes Iceland has to offer. You'll start in the lush Landmannalaugar nature reserve, where you'll see colorful rhyolite mountains, hot springs, and bubbling geysers. As you make your way through the trail, you'll cross glaciers, ford rivers, and hike through valleys dotted with wildflowers. National Geographic ranked this hike among the top 20 in the world, so you shouldn't miss it. The trek is suitable for experienced hikers and we will be walking a section of it. |
and many more!
