Hike Series for TFH team 2017

Those who are not considering any of the TFH trips are welcomed to join too.

Introduction

We are pleased to announce the following training hike at Gunung Muntahak and Panti for the TFH teams.

Host: Wai Yin and Mala

The popular Kota Tinggi waterfall has its origin from Gunung Muntahak (634masl). Muntahak is a relatively undisturbed mountain covered by tall canopies providing perfect conditions for the growth of rare palm tree, Diamond Joey. The beauty of Muntahak doesn’t lie in its summit but in its variety of terrain you will encounter along the way, including the old tin mining land, plethora of Orchids and Pitcher plants and a large pond filled with fishes and frogs.

On the following day, exploration of Gunung Panti (531masl) will follows. It may not be as high but equally fascinating with its forest being home to some malaysia elephants, you may not encounter them but they definitely leave trails that can be easily seen (& smell)…..

SAFETY is of its most importance, listen and follow the guide instructions at all time.

The itinerary:
4 Mar (Sat)
6.00am: Meet Woodland interchange. To take breakfast beforehand and pack running lunch
9.00am: Reach Kota Tinggi town Petri Jaya. Change to 4x4/minivan to trailhead
10.00am: Reach trailhead. Hike start after short briefing.
12.00am: Reach Sungai Tengkil Waterfall. Take a break.
13.00am: Proceed to G.Muntahak.
14.00pm: Reach G.Muntahak. Take lunch.
15.00pm: Start descend.
17.30pm: Reach Sungai Pelepah campsite. 
19.00pm: Reach Kota Tinggi Waterfall carpark. Ride on bus transfer to Kota Tinggi Rainforest Resort. Check in. 
20.00pm: Take dinner at Kota Tinggi town. Free & easy.

5 Mar (Sun)
6.30am: Morning call. Take breakfast 
8.30am: Reach Panti Bird Santuary. Ride up 4x4/minivan after short briefing.
9.00am: Reach trailhead. Start hike. 
12.00pm: Reach army campsite. Take lunch. 
3.30pm: Reach G.Panti West. Continue descend.
4.30pm: Reach G.Panti trailhead. Take shower at Kota Tinggi Rainforest Resort.
6.00pm: Take dinner at Kota Tinggi town.
7.00pm: Depart to SG 
8.30pm: Reach custom

Trans Muntahak (Total hike 8.5hrs)
Petri Jaya > Trailhead (4x4/minivan, 30min) > Sungai Tengkil Waterfall (1.5hr) > G.Muntahak (3hrs) > Sungai Pelepah campsite (2.5hrs) > Kota Tinggi Waterfall carpark (1.5hr)

Trans Panti (Total hike 6.5hrs)
Panti Bird Sanctuary > Trailhead (4x4/minivan, 30min) > Army campsite (3hrs) > G.Panti West (2.5hrs) > G.Panti Trailhead (1hr)

Refund Policy
There is no refund for this trip once payment are made. Members are however, allowed to find their replacements (subject to organiser's approval) until 2 days before departure.
