THE ITINERARY
MOROCCO 2024
Day 1 (28th Sept): Flight Day
Day 2 (29th Sept): Casablanca Airport Transfer- Marrakech
Transfer from Casablanca Airport to Marrakesh. In Casablanca, we will experience the majestic Mosque Hassan II in and Hobus, Twin center. In the afternoon, we will drive towards Marrakech. Have an early night in Marrakech.
Day 3 (30th Sept): Marrakech - Essaouira (B)
After breakfast, we spend some time exploring Majorel Gardens and Yves Saint Lauren Gardens. Then we make our way to Essaouira, Morocco’s charming Atlantic port. Travel from Marrakech to Essaouira by air-conditioned vehicle, stop to visit an Argan Co-operative and on arrival, immerse yourself in the historical port town.
Day 4 (1st Oct): Essaouira (B)
After Breakfast, we take a guided tour of the harbour, explore the sea-fort and old medina. We have the leisure to enjoy half day walk in Essaouira and visit Portuguese Ramparts or go to beach. Visit Jewish Heritage Sites: Synagogues, Cemeteries & Stories of the Jewish Mellah.
Day 5 (2nd Oct): Essaouira - Marrakech (B)
After breakfast, we make our way to Marrakech. Today we explore the Ochre City. Start by visiting the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, then continue to the Bahia Palace and Saadian Tombs to see traditional Moroccan architecture and tile mosaics. Stop by the Mellah, or former Jewish Quarter, to learn about Morocco's little-known but significant Jewish heritage.
Stop for a mid-day lunch on a terrace overlooking the spice markets. Try the tagine and refreshing mint tea, then head out for the afternoon to explore the souks, or markets, which spread through the winding alleyways of the medina. The shops sell everything from spices to clothing, household goods, and a variety of traditional Moroccan gifts and souvenirs.
In the evening make your way to the sprawling Djema El Fna Square to see a colorful medley of street performers, fortune-tellers, musicians, and food vendors.
Day 6 (3rd Oct): Marrakesh-Ait Benhadou-Dades Gorges (B, D)
Today we make our way our of Marrakech towards the kasbah of Aitbenhadou. After that, visit the Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate and continue to Dades Gorge via Skoura and Rose Valley (Kelaa Mgouna) where, in spring, Berber children line the route selling garlands of fragrant roses. Leave the main route at Boumalne Dades to drive past ruined hilltop Kasbahs, valley-floor gardens and the strange rock formations of the Tamnalt Hills night in the gorges Dades .
Day 7 (4th Oct): Dades Gorges- Merzouga via Todra Gorge. Erg Chebbi Camel Treks (B,D)
Transfer to Merzouga via the Todra Gorge, the highest gorge in Morocco just 20m wide and over 200m high. Arrive at the edge of the dunes with the option to overnight in a hotel or go camel trekking in Erg Chebbi, with a desert guide, and sleep in a luxury tent at a desert camp where your guide serves dinner under the stars.
Day 8 (5th Oct): Erg Chebbi Desert - (Merzouga) - Midelt -Fes (B)
After an early sunrise, we ride the camels backing to Merzouga, after take shower and breakfast we’ll start our tour backing to Fes. We stop on the road to enjoy having tea with a nomadic family before we are passing through the High Atlas Mountains again. We stop by a town called Midelt where we’ll have lunch. This town is a very impressive mountain city at 1488 meters of altitude, well situated lower down the Jbel Ayachi (3737 m). In the afternoon we’ll continue to the legendary city of Fes. Arrival to Fes which is the end of the trip. 7 hours drive.
Day 9 (6th Oct): Fes City Tour (B)
The oldest of the imperial cities in Morocco, and perhaps the most interesting and exciting to explore, Fes has undergone little colonial development adding to its medieval appeal. The most complete medina in the Arab world and a UNESCO World Heritage site, Fes is made up of three main points of interest: Fes el Bali (old Fes, the medina, and where you will spend most of your time), Fes el Jdid ('new' Fes), and the French-influenced Ville Nouvelle. Meet your guide to learn more about the history and culture of Fes, and most importantly, to help you navigate the medina.
Begin your tour in Fes el Bali, starting at the Bab Boujeloud gate welcoming you onto Talâa Kebira. Discover the wares for sale in the souks (markets) and shops as you pass the Spanish and Tunisian influenced architecture. One of the most unique sights in the old Medina is the tanneries and Chouara Tannery is no exception. Climb to the rooftop of a nearby leather shop for a better view of the 11th-century stone pots filled with dye and men working. Follow your guide to Al-Qarawiyyin Library and Mosque (859 CE). If you're lucky, you may be able to sneak a peek inside the Library.
Day 10 (7th Oct): Fes - Meknes - Fes (B)
After breakfast, we depart from Fes towards Moulay Idriss Zerhoun in Meknes. Experience a panoramic view of the city. We may be able to view the holy mosque. We will make a stop at the Cylindrical Minaret. In Meknes, another significant imperial city in Morocco. Moreover, it is known as the Ismaili capital of Morocco, you will see the famous gate Bab Mansour, the Sahrij Souani Bassin, and the Mulay Ismail Mausoleum. After lunch, your journey continues to the Roman city of Volubilis. In the evening, we head back to Fes for the night.
Day 11 (8th Oct): Fes - Chefchaouan (B)
After breakfast, we head to the beautiful blue city. We will take a guided city tour. Then you have the leisure time to explore the city on foot and enjoy walking through the narrow alleys and lanes of this city.
Day 12 (9th Oct): Chefchaouan - Akchour - National Park (B)
Today is the day to enjoy the natural waterfalls and National Park. Simple trails to walk. In the late afternoon, we get back to Chefchaouan to enjoy an evening and soak in the sunset view.
Day 13 (10th Oct): Chefchaouan - Rabat - Casablance (B)
After having breakfast, we will take our way to Casablanca via Rabat. We will make a stop to enjoy the city of Rabat. In the evening, we will reach Casablanca.
Day 14 (11th Oct): Casablanca Airport Transfer (B)
Enjoy the day in Casablanca with last minute shopping or enjoying the many souks. In the early evening, we depart to the airport for our flight.
Day 15 (12th Oct): Home Sweet Home
