Introduction

We are pleased to announce the following training hike at Gunung Liang East West for the Philippines / Nepal 2017 teams.

Host: Sara and Wanming

Mount Liang East West is located at Tanjung Malim, Perak, roughly 120km away from KL. It is 1933masl and ranked 35th on the list of the mountains of Malaysia. Although relatively unpopular for trekking compared to its neighbour Fraser’s Hill, Mount Liang offers plenty of flora and fauna sighting. Varieties of pitcher plants, wild fungi and mossy forest can be found along the way.

Please note that the hike will be quite strenuous and rugged. A hiker needs to trek about 10 hours from trail head to summit and back to campsite, with some section in the dark with headlamp

Medium to advanced hiker only (have done at least 3-4 hikes long hikes of 10 hours continuously, e.g. Nuang/Ledang/Transberembun)
SAFETY is of its most importance, listen and follow the guide instructions at all time.

The itinerary:

24 Feb (Fri)
11.00pm: Meet Woodland interchange

25 Feb (Sat)
5.30am: Toilet break at Tanjung Malim R&R. Exit Behrang toll. Take breakfast & dabao lunch at Behrang town.
6.30am: Proceed to Kampung Sungai Dara
7.00am: Reach Kampung Sungai Dara.
Briefing & allocate food ration. Transfer trailhead by 4x4

8.00am: Reach trailhead. Start hike.
10.00am: Reach Kem Lubuk Hantu. Set tent.
11.00am: Continue daypack proceed to summit.
1.30pm: Reach Kem 7-11. Take lunch (included) & refill water (Last water point).
2.00pm: Proceed to summit.
4.00pm: Reach G.Liang West.
4.30pm: Reach G.Liang East.
5.00pm: Descend to campsite.
9.00pm: Reach Kem Lubuk Hantu. Take dinner.

26 Feb (Sun)
7.30am: Morning call. Take breakfast (included).
8.30am: Break tent. Back to trailhead.
10.30am: Reach trailhead. 4x4 or minivan transfer to Kampung Sungai Dara.
11.30am: Ride on bus to Behrang town for shower & lunch.
1.00pm: Back to Singapore
7.00pm: Reach JB custom

What does your package include?

Refund Policy
There is no refund for this trip once payment are made. Members are however, allowed to find their replacements (subject to organiser's approval) until 2 days before departure.
